Ice is to NEVER be trusted!
First of all no matter how cold it is out and how far you are into winter never think to yourself that walking on ice so always be alert at all times and pay attention to every step you take because the one time you are not paying attnetion you will make a mistake..;..dont make this mistake because Rick experienced this but was one of the lucky ones that excaped.
rick was on his way to a birthday party not to far away from home he drove to the party but forgot the childs present he didnt want to make a big deal about it so he left but figured he might as well just walk across the lake to the other side and he would be home being a small lake he begane walking he says his first mistake was not telling any body where he was going always bring a buddy or tell someone were they can locate you. He thought that because the tempratures had already reached atleast 40 below so he thought it was safe. But what he didnt know was that the lake had an underground stream which was much warmer than the lake which would rise up to the ice eventually... about 1/3 of the way across rick fell into the plummeting water where the stream had warmed the ice makeing it thinner and he thought he was done for because he could find the hole that he had fell in and short of breath he began to panic and luckly not leaving the area of the thin ice he began to pound on the ice and began to crack and he eventually broke through th ice to escape that could have taken his life. Rick admits he should have been paying closer attention to his surronding and he should have told someone were he was going because if he would have died atleast his family would know what happened to him. The moral of thge story is to never trust ICE.
